What Is a Kitchen Tiles Backsplash?

A Backsplash from Kitchen Tiles

Many kitchens have a Backsplash. This is a tiled area behind the stove cooking area that protects the wall. Tiles are used because they are water proof and reasonably heatproof. And because there are many different types of tiles there is always something to suit every kitchen decor.

Peel and Stick Backsplash

It is quite possible to use peel and stick tile sheets to create backsplash. In fact, this is quite easy. The tile sheets can be attached to a solid piece of timber board, which is then attached to the wall behind the stove. This is an easy DIY project.

We can simplify this project by cutting the timber board so that the tile sheets fit to size. That way there is no need to cut the tile sheets.

The timber board can be attached to the wall with screws before the tile sheets are fitted. Or it can be put in place with glue. A caulking gun is an ideal way to apply the glue.

In some cases the Backsplash can be created by applying the peel and stick tile sheets directly to the wall.

The only limitation of the adhesive tiles is that they cannot be too near a hot surface. But if the tiles are 20cm away from the stove plates there should be no problem.

Backsplashes can be easily wiped done after cooking, so there will be no stains.
